2019 Jeep Wrangler | Capital CJDR of Indian Trail
Every time Jeep updates the Wrangler, there really isn’t much of a change. However, for 2019, the company has decided to do away with a lot of old stuff. Though the design language remains, pretty much, the same, the vehicle, as a whole, is a lot more comfortable and easier to live with.
Jeep has also simplified the various trim levels, bringing it down to just two option each, for the two-door and the four-door. However, the changes do reflect on the price. The new 2019 Jeep Wrangler is a little pricier; about $4000 more than the outgoing version. But you do get more bang for the buck.
Under the hood
Though the trim levels have been simplified, you still get the same number of engine options. In fact, you have a new offering altogether. There’s the usual 3.6-liter that pushes out 285 horsepower and the latest turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder mild-hybrid that belts out a slightly higher 270 horsepower.
There are rumors of an upcoming diesel as well. But, for the time being, you have both these engine options and two transmissions to go with them.
The Wrangler was purely developed for the purpose of off-roading, and that hasn’t changed one bit. The vehicle feels at home on the path less traveled. However, this doesn’t come at the cost of its on-road capabilities.
The new Jeep Wrangler will still take you from point A to B, within the city, in as much comfort as possible. Now, the two-door has a slight edge over the four-door, thanks to the improved break-over angle. So, if you’re looking for full-blown off-road performance, the two-door is a relatively better option.
But that doesn’t mean the four-door isn’t capable of eating its rivals for breakfast. Even with the extra length, it will take on anything in its path.
Of course, you get extra trim levels on the two-door. This includes the Sport, Sport S, and the Rubicon. As you may already know, the Rubicon is the king of them all. It packs a whole lot more heat and is ready to take on the rocks, boulders, swamps, and pretty much anything.
